3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Steven Matz had an ugly outing versus the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. He only lasted three innings, allowing nine hits and seven earned runs in the 9-4 loss. This is quite surprising considering the Pirates lineup is actually better versus right-handed pitching. Nonetheless, Matz got crushed and allowed a ton of hard contact all game long. Matz has shown in the past that he can be a reliable option in the major league rotation. However, he won't be a favorable option in his next start versus the Milwaukee Brewers.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
