4 years agoNew York Mets left-handed pitcher Steven Matz exited Game 1 of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Yankees following just one inning of relief due to what appears to be a left arm injury. Matz was making his first appearance in two weeks and just the third out of relief in his career. The plan was reportedly for Matz to piggyback starter Robert Gsellman, who left after four innings of work. New York has already opted to look elsewhere for starting rotation options, which has zapped Matz of any fantasy intrigue moving forward, irrespective of any potential ailments.--Jesse Borek
