Steven Matz Has Short Night Versus Orioles
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Steven Matz lasted just four innings versus the Orioles on Tuesday as his team fell 7-5. The left-hander gave up four runs (three earned) since he didn't get a lot of help from his defense, but he wasn't at his sharpest either by letting two of his six hits leave the yard. The lone bright spot was that he struck out four without walking a batter to put him at 82 K through 76 1/3 IP on the year. Matz is lined up for one more start before the All-Star game where he'll take an underwhelming 4.72 ERA and 1.38 WHIP on the road versus the Rays.
