4 years agoNew York Mets left-handed pitcher Steven Matz will not work out of the bullpen Wednesday against Philadelphia, primarily due to the fact that he could rejoin the club’s starting rotation this weekend versus Atlanta. Matz has made just one relief appearance since being removed from the starting staff due to the 9.00 ERA that he compiled in five starts. While his track record indicates that he should be able to flip the script on his 2020 woes eventually, Atlanta batters may see an increase in appeal should Matz in fact take the hill Saturday. Check back for an official announcement of who the Mets will tab.--Jesse Borek
