3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Steven Matz moved to 4-0 on the season after the Jays topped the Rays 5-3 on Friday. The southpaw hurled five innings and allowed five hits and two walks while striking out seven in the 87-pitch effort. All the damage was done off a three-run homer from Randy Arozarena in the fifth, but it was otherwise another fine outing from the 29-year-old. This was the first time all season Matz has surrendered more than one earned run in a start as he's returned to fantasy relevance with a 2.31 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 25 strikeouts through 23 1/3 IP. He'll look to continue his early season hot streak with a date against the Nationals next week in Dunedin.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
