4 years agoNew York Mets left-handed pitcher Steven Matz has been tabbed as the club’s starter Friday against Atlanta. Matz has battled both injuries and demotion throughout 2020, having posted an 8.63 ERA across six appearances (five starts). While Matz is a risky play in both DFS and season-long formats, his lone quality start this season came against the Braves on July 25 when he tossed six innings and allowed just two hits and one run. With Jacob deGrom (hamstring) currently day-to-day, Matz may be able to cement a rotation spot over the final week-plus with a strong showing Friday.--Jesse Borek
