5 years agoIn his third start since coming off the injured list on July 16, Steven Matz was completely dominating in his 99-pitch shutout of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday night. The left-handed Matz was nearly flawless in front of a home crowd, scattering five hits over nine innings while striking out seven Pirates and walking none. In his three starts since returning from the IL, Matz is 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, with 15 strikeouts in 19 innings.
