7 years agoSomething that hasn’t been said often throughout New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz’s (elbow) career is that he’s been pain-free. Matz told the New York Daily News that he currently feels no ill effects in his elbow after surgery to reposition his ulnar nerve, which ended his 2017 season, and he expects to be ready for spring training. If Matz is truly healthy and stays that way, there’s no doubt he could be a serious fantasy asset in 2018. Keep an eye on Matz as a very late-round pick or an early free-agent pickup off the waiver wire.--John Smith
