Rangers Interested In Another Shortstop
3 years agoAfter signing infielder Marcus Semien to a seven-year deal on Sunday, the Texas Rangers remain in on another shortstop, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Javier Baez, Corey Seager, Trevor Story, and Carlos Correa are the big-name free agent shortstops still available. If they do ink another infielder, it's possible to have Semien play second base, where he played all season with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2021. In that case, either Isiah Kiner-Falefa or Nick Solak would need to find another spot on the diamond if not on the bench. The Rangers have been active all offseason long, also showing interest in pitchers Jon Gray and Clayton Kershaw, with the intent on competing next year.
