5 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Tom Murphy hit a pair of dingers in a 2-for-5 day at the plate Sunday. He cashed in three RBI in the contest and has hit four homers in his last three starts. Murphy now has seven long balls on the season with 14 RBI and a .304 batting average in a backup role for the M's. He's taken away playing time from Omar Narvaez lately with his tremendous play, but his ugly 40.2% K-rate and 3.7% walk rate is a concern. He likely won't maintain this barrage of power and Narvaez owners shouldn't be worried about a potential loss in playing time continuing. Murphy's streak has been stellar, but he doesn't merit a spot in two-catcher leagues.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
