3 years agoTony Finau entered last Thursday morning with a decent chance to contend at the US Open. He walked out of Torrey Pines South Friday evening missing the cut. Shooting 74 on Thursday was not bad but the 76 on Friday was. It left Finau scratching his head plenty. Maybe The Memorial was a harbinger of things to come when Finau just could not make putts all weekend. He was consistently erratic with his irons and drives too often. But it was that putter which ranks out of the top-120 now (123rd) that has been the real problem. If he can drop a few putts early, then maybe this week will be better.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
