Trevor Ariza Agrees To Deal With Phoenix
6 years agoHouston Rockets small forward Trevor Ariza has agreed with the Phoenix Suns on a one-year deal to sign with the team once the free agent signing period begins. Ariza spent the past four seasons with the Rockets and is coming off a year in which he averaged 11.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 36.8 percent from three. While a crowded forward rotation makes it tough to predict what the Suns will look like this season, it stands to reason that they wouldn't have given Ariza $15 million if they didn't plan to have him on the court extensively. Expect similar numbers to last season, though pay attention to his playing time down the stretch if the Suns don't show massive improvement by the second half the season, as players like rookie forward Mikal Bridges could gobble up some of those minutes if the team stops trying to win games.
