Tyler Stephenson Hits Pinch-Hit Solo HR
3 years agoCincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson went 1-for-1 in a 4-1 win over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. Stephenson hit a pinch-hit, solo homer for his team in the eighth inning to tack on an insurance run in the win. The rookie catcher is putting together a quality first season, hitting .274 with five homers, 30 runs, and 20 RBI across 157 at-bats. He has been seeing the ball well at the plate of late, hitting .314 with two homers and seven RBI over his past seven games. While he's still splitting playing time with veteran Tucker Barnhart, Stephenson could become a quality fantasy catcher if he starts to play more regularly. For now, he should be on watch lists in standard mixed leagues.
