Tyler Stephenson Turns In Big Game
4 years agoCincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson had a nice day at the plate in a 12-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. Stephenson went 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI in the lopsided win. The young catcher has now made two starts behind the plate while taking a seat for veteran Tucker Barnhart on Saturday. Stephenson is off to a fast start, picking up four hits in seven at-bats. Barnhart homered on Saturday but Stephenson's bat has loads of potential if he can seize the lion's share of the playing time at catcher. It is a positive sign that Stephenson has the early edge in playing time over Barnhart after three games. As such, fantasy gamers should take a look at Stephenson if he's available on waivers and they are in need of some production out of the catcher spot.
