3 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey had a chance to lead the offense without Joel Embiid (ribs) on the court Monday against Memphis, and he notched 23 points on 9-for-17 shooting with a 2-for-5 effort from downtown. Maxey dished out seven assists with three turnovers and collected one steal in 30 minutes. The young guard has been in a bit of a slump this month, but his Monday's performance should up his confidence. Maxey will have a difficult matchup against Kyle Lowry and the Heat on Wednesday, but he'll be in a prime spot to perform the day after against the Nets, who boast the second-worst defensive record in the league against opposing point guards.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
