Vikings Expected To Release Kendall Wright
6 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings are expected to release wide receiver Kendall Wright, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Wright signed a 1-year deal in March with just $300K guaranteed, but the Vikings are opting to go young with Laquon Treadwell, Stacey Coley, and Brandon Zylstra rounding out the receiving core behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. The move makes sense - both Diggs and Thielen can play and thrive in the slot and that's where Kendall Wright has made his mark in the NFL to date. This gives a boost to Laquon Treadwell as the team's clear third receiver, though it remains to be seen how many targets he'll attract with so many weapons ahead of him in the pecking order. Kendall Wright, meanwhile, will look to sign with a team in need of veteran wide receiver depth in the coming days.
