7 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been diagnosed with a strained patella tendon in his left knee. The Blue Jays will manage the situation conservatively, and re-evaluate him in four weeks time. Weirdly, this may actually come as somewhat of a relief to the Blue Jays, as Guerrero was hitting .407 with 11 home runs in 235 plate appearances at Double-A. He was knocking on the door for a callup to the majors leagues, and this injury allows the Blue Jays to delay that callup. Guerrero could still play a part in the majors in 2018, but he can only be stashed in deep mixed leagues or leagues with big benches.--Ben Rolfe
