Wander Franco Could Be Out Six-To-Eight Weeks

2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays placed shortstop Wander Franco (wrist) on the 10-day injured list with right wrist discomfort on Sunday morning. He suffered the injury during the first inning of Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. It occurred when he fouled off a fastball from Reds starter Hunter Greene. He was removed from the game immediately after the at-bat and the team announced right away that he'd miss Sunday's game. Rays manager Kevin Cash stated after Saturday's game that Franco was likely dealing with a hamate issue. If the injury is a broken hamate, he could be out for six-to-eight weeks.
