Wayne Ellington Can't Find Shooting Stroke
7 years agoMiami Heat shooting guard Wayne Ellington struggled with his shot, especially from three-point range, Monday night against the Houston Rockets. The Rockets used their speed and made Ellington, the man with the golden arm, a defensive priority all night, quickly switching on screens set for him. Ellington did finish with 13 points but was 3-for-11 from three to go along with five rebounds and two assists in 39 minutes. This was a disappointing output for Ellington, as he got his second straight start without teammates Goran Dragic (knee) and Tyler Johnson (ankle). However, Ellington is a 41 percent three-point shooter this season and is expected to bounce back in that department Thursday night against the Sacramento Kings. If Dragic or Johnson sit out again, Ellington will be in prime position to reach 30 minutes off the bench.
