Wayne Ellington Likely To Be Waived After Trade To Suns
6 years agoPoint/shooting guard Wayne Ellington was part of a trade Wednesday between the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns which saw the swap of Tyler Johnson and Ryan Anderson. Ellington appears to have tagged along in that deal, although the Suns are likely to waive the veteran, paving the way for him to become a free agent and potentially help a contending club down the stretch. Ellington remains a three-point marksman during his age-31 season, averaging 2.3 makes from deep per contest, shooting at a 36.8 percent clip. He has started 12 of the 25 games he has appeared in this season for Miami, now looking to make the postseason for a second consecutive year.
