6 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Welington Castillo (back) was taken out of Sunday's game against the New York Yankees with lower back tightness. He was starting at designated hitter and was 1-for-1 in the game before being pulled. White Sox beat writer Scott Merkin reports he will be re-evaluated tomorrow, though you can probably pull the plug on the veteran catcher as there are undoubtedly some more enticing options on the waiver wire. Castillo has been a huge disappointment this season, hitting .189/.283/.358 with five home runs, 15 RBI, and seven runs scored in 106 at-bats. None of his advanced metrics are pretty either. More information regarding his injury status will follow his evaluation on Monday.--Kyle Ringstad - RotoBaller
