6 years agoDallas Mavericks shooting guard Wesley Matthews was not hampered by his three-game absence during Saturday’s win over the Boston Celtics, launching nine threes in his first contest back. Three of those dropped for Matthews, who finished with 15 points, but contributed little else statistically. With the 32-year-old back into the starting lineup for Dallas, owners who have seen a bit of an offensive renaissance from Matthews and need his marksmanship can feel safe deploying him in all formats again. But first, he’ll have to crack the code of shooting against the Houston Rockets, whom he faces Wednesday, having hit on just 28.8 percent of his shots from deep in 29 career games, his second-lowest against any opponent.--Jesse Borek
