White Sox Expect Michael Kopech To Make Impact In 2020
4 years agoChicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn met with the media on Thursday and said that he believes starting pitcher Michael Kopech could make a “significant impact” this season. Kopech is still considered one of the top pitching prospects and made his debut in 2018, but underwent Tommy John surgery after just four starts. The delayed season will benefit the White Sox as Kopech should be available for the full season now. Kopech was throwing heat this spring, but his role with the team is unclear. Kopech is likely to be on an innings limit and could even operate as an opener for the club. The flamethrower still offers very high upside to fantasy owners and is worth the gamble in redraft leagues, although he offers his biggest value in dynasty leagues.
