4 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher Will Smith (COVID-19 recovery) has been cleared to rejoin the team after going through COVID-19 recovery. Smith was placed on the Injured List after testing positive for COVID-19 a few weeks before the season started. Smith threw a side session in Atlanta on Sunday and Braves manager Brian Snitker has suggested that Smith could join the team by the start of their next road trip, which begins August 7th. Mark Melancon, who is dealing with a back issue of his own, figures to be the top candidate for saves in Atlanta for now, but Smith could certainly be in line for closing duties upon his return.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
