Willie Calhoun Expected To Be Ready For Opening Day
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (jaw) is still on the road to recovery, but his manager Chris Woodward expects him to be ready for the start of the MLB season. The 25-year old is already on a stationary bike and looks to be in line for a full slate of games, whenever the 2020 season begins. Calhoun's recovery will directly impact Nick Solak's playing time because Solak was the first man up to benefit from his absence. The combination of Calhoun's recovery and the delay to the start of the season will likely take Solak off the draft board in 12-team leagues. Calhoun was a popular breakout pick before the fractured jaw after hitting 21 home runs with a .848 OPS last season, and now fantasy owners can draft the former top-100 prospect with the same confidence as they did before the jaw injury.
