Willie Calhoun Fractures Jaw After HBP
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (mouth) was hit by a pitch during the first inning of his team's spring training game on Sunday and will be evaluated on Monday to determine how much time he will miss. Calhoun would have been the Rangers' everyday left fielder to start the year, but now those at-bats could be up for grabs. The most likely candidate to pick those up would be Nick Solak. The prospect has gotten a lot of reps in center field this spring, and sliding to left field would make sense for him and the Rangers. Scott Heineman and Adolis Garcia should also be on fantasy radars as sleeper options. Still, Solak seems to be the best bet for more opportunities if Calhoun misses any regular-season action.
