4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina could return to the lineup as soon as Thursday, according to manager Mike Schildt. Thursday is the earliest that Molina could possibly return after missing time with a positive coronavirus test, and although his status for Thursday’s game is up in the air, the Cardinals clearly expect to get him back in the lineup relatively quickly. Molina had picked up only two singles over 18 at-bats before landing on the IL, and he’ll look to improve upon last season’s .270/.312/.399 slash line this year. Molina’s return bounces Matt Wieters out of the starting lineup, so Wieters is unlikely to be anything more than an occasional DFS option for the remainder of the season.--Sam Chinitz
