Years, Not Salary, The Latest Hurdle For Kyrie Irving
2 years agoBrooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving has a shot at remaining with the team. While the multi-time All-Star and the front office are reportedly in agreement on money, it's rumored both sides can't come to terms on the length of a deal. Irving, who has until June 29 to exercise his $36.9 player option, is a capable fantasy producer. However, constant on and off-the-court drama makes him a risk for any franchise, so Brooklyn is hesitant to sign him to a long-term contract. Nevertheless, the 30-year-old, who has averaged 23.1 points, 5.7 assists, and shot 39.3% from deep during his career, will still garner plenty of fantasy interest, at least from those comfortable with taking a chance on a guy who's missed more than enough time over the years.
