6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Yohander Mendez will make a spot start in the place of Bartolo Colon (illness) Sunday. Mendez has made one start so far this season and he struggled a lot. His one start came in June against the Colorado Rockies, giving up six earned runs in just three innings. Mendez has had a reasonable amount of strikeout upside in the minors, and he has a relatively good matchup in facing the Minnesota Twins. However, his youth and lack of experience make him an impossible person to trust and use in this start on Sunday.--Ben Rolfe
