Yordan Alvarez Still Out Against Rangers
2 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (hand) remains out of the starting lineup against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. Alvarez will start on the bench for the second straight game due to left hand soreness. The 25-year-old left-handed slugger should be considered day-to-day for now. In Alvarez's place on Tuesday, J.J. Matijevic is serving as the designated hitter and batting eighth against Rangers right-hander Dane Dunning. Matijevic will be an unattractive, low-upside DFS commodity on Tuesday. The 26-year-old rookie has gone 11-for-55 (.200) with two home runs, four RBI and 19 strikeouts in his first 59 major league plate appearances in 2022.
