6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo will take the mound for the Rangers for the first time this season on Sunday. The Rangers had to make a decision on Gallardo by last Friday or risk him opting out of his contract. Gallardo somewhat forced the Rangers hand by pitching well at Triple-A. In 49 2/3 innings, he has a 3.81 ERA with 40 strikeouts and just 14 walks. Gallardo has averaged just under five innings a start at Triple-A which is a big concern if you are considering him for DFS. Gallardo does not have enough upside to be particularly useful in daily formats, but he could offer some value for deep season-long leagues.--Ben Rolfe
