6 years agoIt's been a rough season so far for Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish, but Friday's outing against the St. Louis Cardinals was an encouraging sign. Darvish went six innings, allowed just three hits and one earned run while striking out six. He also walked three batters, which is the main stat worth monitoring for Darvish, as he's now walked a whopping 41 batters in 61 innings this year. Because of his control problems, he's only reached the end of the sixth inning in four of his 12 starts this year. On the bright side, Darvish's strikeout rate of 26.7 percent is phenomenal and he's got a great offense to support him. The best move for now is to hold on to him and hope for a hot stretch that will allow you to trade him for someone a bit more reliable.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
