3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin (knee) was limited to just two innings in his start against the Washington Nationals on Sunday. He has been dealing with a right knee injury lately. Phillies interim manager Rob Thomson stated after the game that Eflin had been running around a lot in the first two innings and looked "a little ginger walking around" so he opted to remove him from the game as a precaution. Thomson added that Eflin's velocity was good in the game and that Eflin himself wanted to stay in the game. Overall, neither Thomson nor Eflin appear to be overly concerned about the injury. The plan is for Eflin to be reevaluated on Tuesday. After that, we should have a better idea of whether he'll be able to make his next scheduled start against the San Diego Padres on Saturday.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
