Zion Williamson Sustains Broken Finger, Out Indefinitely
4 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans power forward Zion Williamson (finger) has a broken left ring finger, an injury that threatens to sideline him for the remainder of the 2020-21 regular season. With just six games left on the docket for New Orleans (over the next nine days), Williamson faces a difficult path to returning to action unless the team makes a sizable push for a playoff spot. Without him in the mix, Eric Bledsoe and Lonzo Ball figure to see whopping offensive workloads, while James Johnson and Wesley Iwundu should see elevated minutes in the frontcourt. It's been an All-NBA caliber year from Williamson, who has averaged 27 PPG on 61.1 shooting overall, adding 7.2 boards and 3.7 assists on a nightly basis. Check back for any updates on his status, but he is out indefinitely for the time being.
