NFL Week 12: Thunder Dan's NFL DFS Tiered Rankings (Premium Content)

All other Premium Tools can be accessed on the premium dashboard.

Welcome, RotoBallers, to my official tiered rankings for week 12 of this NFL season! You can find my core plays at RB and WR each week in my Anchors column as well as the rest of my favorites plays in our premium cheat sheet.

The concept behind these rankings is to give you an idea of how to approach lineup building for this week's slate. I will rank all relevant players based on their point-per-dollar value in one of five tiers and then provide notes on each tier explaining how I plan to utilize each tier this week.

Tier 1 is going to have most of my favorite plays and likely a good bit of chalk, but you're not likely going to be able to build too many lineups ONLY using players from Tier 1.

Tiers 2 and 3 are going to have some players you will want to mix and match in lineups, likely at lower ownership than Tier 1.

Tiers 4 and 5 are players that I likely won't have much exposure to that week and are players that you should only consider in large field GPPs if you are going to be mass multi-entering a large number of lineups.

NFL Week 12 - Premium DFS Rankings

  • Rankings are based primarily on DK pricing and are based on points-per-dollar value, not raw points.
  • Core plays are highlighted in green boxes.
  • Bold black font indicates the player is useable in all formats - tournaments and cash games.
  • Bold blue font indicates the player is preferred for tournaments. These are usually lower-owned pivot plays.
  • Red font indicates that I am fading that player, and wouldn't suggest any exposure to them even if you are making multiple builds.
  • If a player is not on the chart, it's likely because they are only a part-time player on offense. I will attempt to update the rankings and notes each week on Saturday or Sunday morning once injury news becomes more concrete.

ALL NOTES ARE UPDATED AS OF SATURDAY 11/27 6:30 PM

Tier 1 Notes:

As usual, here's where all the goodness is! If you can make a lineup using only these players, that's an optimal build for cash games or small field single-entry.

We have some cheap QBs in Tier one this week and mainly mid-tier wideouts. I'm good going down to Jimmy G in cash on FanDuel, but on DK it's likely Cam Newton for me there as he's so much cheaper on DK this week. McCaffrey is a priority at RB this week in a less-loaded slate than usual. Miles Sanders provides some nice value at running back, too, and that's probably my cash core. Deebo is the one receiver I absolutely am prioritizing paying up for and then we drop down to the guys to like Godwin and Pittman Jr. in the next tier as important pieces of that Indy-Tampa showdown.

It's a week that we can save at tight end, however, with guys like Freiermuth and Arnold being solid values, as well and Gronk being right there in the mix, too.

Tier 2 Notes:

This tier is pretty similar at each position and consists of some of the top pay-ups at each position. They aren't guys who pop the most in point-per-dollar projections, but these are a lot of our ceiling plays. Brady and Hurts at QB, Taylor and Cook at RB, and Allen and Jefferson at receiver.

There's some value in this tier, too, a lot of which comes from Tennessee that is rolling out a whole bunch of backups at their skill positions other than Tannehill. Hillard is probably my fave at only 4800 and the guy who could soak up a bunch of touches as the two cheap wideouts are alot riskier.

Both tight ends in the Philly-Giants game interest me a good bit, too, as Engram is one of the last pass-catchers that Daniel Jones has left and Goedert has been one of the few reliable options in a run-heavy Eagles offense.

Tier 3 Notes:

Any of these QBs are viable, and maybe this week more than ever as there aren't that many elite options at the position. Ekeler could arguably be in the second tier and has massive upside, I am just wondering if he ends up being popular coming off that four TD game and Denver's defense isn't all that bad.

The Jets passing game is interesting this week again, but I can't say I have a favorite of their top three receivers other than maybe Crowder at his price and ownership. Perhaps Wilson will be better this time around or he could suck really bad but the opportunity is there against a bad defense.

Jack Doyle could be sneaky at TE this week as another cheap piece of the highest total and the Bucs are most vulnerable to tight ends and slot receivers.

Tier 4 Notes:

Each week I try to justify highlighting some of these Tier 4 guys, but it's hard. Earlier in the year when there was more uncertainty as to which players would get the touches and targets it made sense to mix it up more, but by this point of the year we can fairly confidently predict the volume for the main offensive players on each team. These aren't bad plays, they just aren't anyone I'm looking to get exposure to either.

Tier 5 Notes:

Most of my fades are down here and guys that I don't see having much upside. I rarely dip into Tier 5 even in my GPP builds and you really shouldn't either, unless you are max-entering and want to grab a small percentage of a player there.
