NFL Week 13: Thunder Dan's NFL DFS Tiered Rankings (Premium Content)

All other Premium Tools can be accessed on the premium dashboard.

Welcome, RotoBallers, to my official tiered rankings for week 13 of this NFL season! You can find my core plays at RB and WR each week in my Anchors column as well as the rest of my favorites plays in our premium cheat sheet.

The concept behind these rankings is to give you an idea of how to approach lineup building for this week's slate. I will rank all relevant players based on their point-per-dollar value in one of five tiers and then provide notes on each tier explaining how I plan to utilize each tier this week.

Tier 1 is going to have most of my favorite plays and likely a good bit of chalk, but you're not likely going to be able to build too many lineups ONLY using players from Tier 1.

Tiers 2 and 3 are going to have some players you will want to mix and match in lineups, likely at lower ownership than Tier 1.

Tiers 4 and 5 are players that I likely won't have much exposure to that week and are players that you should only consider in large field GPPs if you are going to be mass multi-entering a large number of lineups.

NFL Week 13 - Premium DFS Rankings

  • Rankings are based primarily on DK pricing and are based on points-per-dollar value, not raw points.
  • Core plays are highlighted in green boxes.
  • Bold black font indicates the player is useable in all formats - tournaments and cash games.
  • Bold blue font indicates the player is preferred for tournaments. These are usually lower-owned pivot plays.
  • Red font indicates that I am fading that player, and wouldn't suggest any exposure to them even if you are making multiple builds.
  • If a player is not on the chart, it's likely because they are only a part-time player on offense. I will attempt to update the rankings and notes each week on Saturday or Sunday morning once injury news becomes more concrete.

NOTES UPDATED at 12:30 PM on Saturday, 12/4

Tier 1 Notes:

As usual, here's where all the goodness is! If you can make a lineup using only these players, that's an optimal build for cash games or small field single-entry.

The top tier is loaded at running back this week! Mixon is my favorite, but Gibson and Williams project as the top two values. Fournette is a great tournament option and Conner is still underpriced on DK, too. I am comfortable with pretty much all five backs in either format, these are all smash plays.

QB is a little skimpy this week and trust me, I don't want to have to put Carr, Heinicke, and Ryan in the top tier but their salaries suggest they could be elite values. Herbert gets it done every week and is cheaper than both of the top-priced guys Brady and Stafford.

I have Aiyuk as a core play at receiver, I think he's a smash play in cash games and probably one of the best receiving plays on the slate. Kupp is up here even at his price because he has an elite matchup and we may see the Rams throw more than usual this week, too.

There are two really cheap TEs this week - Moreau and O'Shaughnessy. Moreau should be chalk city and cash game gold, while I like James O. as a pivot at the same price point on DK.

Tier 2 Notes:

More running backs! How do you keep Jonathan Taylor and Alexander Mattison out of tier 1? Mainly it's related to their prices and popularity, but I will definitely be playing both of them in plenty of lineups. Eli Mitchell is certainly a good play, too, and I love Patterson and Gaskin as pivots that will be lower-owned than the other 7-8 best backs on the slate.

A lot of goodness here at WR, too, with some cheapies in Josh Reynolds and DeSean Jackson standing out as great GPP targets. I love the Vikings wideouts against Detroit and we all know Brandin Cooks can pop off at any point with his target volume in a solid matchup against Indy. More cheap tight ends here with Cook and Kmet being solid pay-down options, too.

Tier 3 Notes:

Tier 3 is what it is - the best of the rest. This slate is pretty deep, however, and there are a few guys here like Tua, Freeman, Williams, and Pitts who are really solid GPP plays. Outside of Freeman, I'm not really into most of these backs while there are plenty of viable wideouts in this tier. Mooney and Kittle just got upgraded to GPP targets if you're looking for more options, too.

Tier 4 Notes:

Not much to see here, as usual. If you want to dip down here, I would recommend doing it at receiver where one of these guys could randomly go off, but I don't really want any of these backs - even David Montgomery who I know is projecting well.

Tier 5 Notes:

Most of my fades are down here and guys that I don't see having much upside. I rarely dip into Tier 5 even in my GPP builds and you really shouldn't either, unless you are max-entering and want to grab a small percentage of a player there.
