Thursday Night Matchups Preview: Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson Look to Thrive Against Titans

There's nothing better than starting your fantasy week before you get to Sunday, and if you own Allen Hurns or Allen Robinson, chances are you're likely to do just that this week.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are only 3-6 this year, but in the down AFC South that puts them only one game out of first place, leaving them with plenty to play for. The Tennessee Titans are only 2-6 -- only two games out of first -- but with the Jaguars winning two out of their last three games, this is a game between two teams heading in different directions.

Hurns entered Sunday's game against the Ravens listed as questionable after injuring his foot the week before against the Jets. Owners who stuck with Hurns were rewarded for taking that chance with five catches for 62 yards and a touchdown. With that touchdown, Hurns has now scored in seven straight games. Tennessee has a decent defense against the pass but that didn't stop Carolina's Cam Newton - one of the league's least accurate passers - from going 21-of-26 against them.

Robinson is also enjoying a stellar season. He has caught 45 balls for 758 yards and seven touchdowns. While not quite as impressive as Hurns' seven touchdowns in seven games, Robinson has caught five scores in his last six outings.

While the Titans don't have a dominate duo like the Jags are starting to provide on a week-to-week basis, they do have some fantasy options should you be in a bind coming down the stretch.

The most intriguing Titan has to be Marcus Mariota. Mariota is quietly putting together a decent rookie campaign. In seven games played he has passed for 1,795 yards, 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Like a lot of rookie quarterbacks throughout history, he can be "hit or miss."

This past week would be considered a "miss", throwing for 185 yards and no touchdowns after throwing four touchdowns against the Saints in Week 9. Jacksonville is improving, but Thursday's game has the potential to be a "hit." If you are dealing with fallout of Peyton Manning's demise, Mariota may be worth a look. He is available in over 50 percent of leagues.
