Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox - Yesterday's Recap

Welcome to the Monday, September 2nd edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 2nd. Enjoy them. Daily Musings

• Young Guns (Part Deux). Cody Bellinger & Peter Alonso ride off together. “You, Me, & 43,” they chant.
• Carlos Carrasco returns. The ER isn't a concern. His presence on the mound was an “F- You” to cancer. We should all applaud that.
• Gavin Lux? Ooolala
• Justin Verlander no-hittin people(3); Cavan Biggio celebrates his successful walk.
• Tommy Edman only 25% owned. .317 last 15 days w/three SB. Elig. nearly everywhere.
• Seriously?! Eugenio Suarez(40) charging for the HR crown?
• Nick Senzel w/uber value in Dynasty leagues. 12th HR keeps him on the hush-hush.
• Multi-hit game gets Khris Davis on the flat escalator to .247AVG, not the inclined escalator.
• Matt Olson w/50.9% Hard hit rate?! Wowza!
• Brett Gardner, bang the dugout roof if it helps w/HR(19).
• “Top of the ninth, one on, two out; Abraham Toro steps to the plate. Kaplowee.” Just how little Toro drew it up.
• The Rays have messed w/Nate Lowe all season. He returns w/442ft monster drive(six). “FORE!”
• More respect for Charlie Morton(14th W) in 2020. I promise.
• Victor Reyes. Only 2% owned. Batting .355 w/three SB last week.
• The ‘Anthony Rendon homers(32) so Juan Soto(31) homers’ thing is quite cute.
• Adalberto Mondesi throws cautious to the wind. Three SB in return.
• Is 16HR/17SB/.299AVG from a 31-year-old worth a top-three round pick in 2020? Don’t scuffle when you see Whit Merrifield then.
• Anthony Santander only 26% owned & heading back to Camden soon.
• Are we supposed to be impressed by Kris Bryant’s three SB?
• 12 days since a moonshot. We were getting worried, Christian Yelich(42).
• Trent Grisham concoction is souring quickly.
• Four-straight multi-hit games for Mallex Smith. 53% owned. Two games left before HOU series.
• He debunks the law. Tom Murphy w/7HR, 11RBI, .340AVG last 15 days.
• We now look at 91/35/105/2/.311 & say that isn’t exciting. Still first-round worthy? Nolan Arenado.
• Ty France had himself a day. Two long balls(four). Happy for him. Not relevant to me.
• Evan Longoria(18) & Kyle Seager(19) still ready to contribute for you.
• It looks brilliant when it works. Brandon Workman w/eight saves in last month(2.53ERA).
• Xander Bogaerts(31) & J.D. Martinez(34) make it look easy. Slow & Steady.
• Justin Upton’s value plummets in 2020. At 32 years old, is a rebound available?
• Ross Stripling just isn’t everything we wanted him to be.
• Freddie Freeman is just downright ridiculous. 107R, 38HR, 114RBI, 6SB, .301AVG.
