Hello, eSports enthusiasts, and welcome back to our continued eSports DFS coverage of League of Legends for DraftKings and FanDuel! We have no LCK games for this slate so it will just be a two-game LPL slate again today and tomorrow.
My name is Billy Hoffer and I'm a big fan of LOL, CSGO, and COD and have been a DFS grinder for some time now. I realize I have some big shoes to fill as I fill in for the esteemed Mr. Malmanger with these LPL picks, but I am going to do my best to give you high-quality analysis and actionable advice for tomorrow morning's DFS slate.
I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 5:00 AM on Tuesday, July 21st, 2020. Make sure you follow me on Twitter @Hofferkid!

LPL Matches
Funplus Phoenix (-385) vs. Oh My God
FPX comes into this one having lost their last four matches and has looked absolutely terrible in just about every single one of those. OMG has lost their last three also and one of these teams will have to break out of their cold streak in this one.
FPX holds the edge in first turret rate as well as first blood percentage, OMG has the advantage in baron rates, with FPX having the better dragon and herald rates. FPX also holds a very slight vision advantage. I know FPX has looked like one of the worst teams in the LPL recently, but I expect this to be a bounce-back game for them and hopefully, we can see them return to some type of good form.
Gimgoon is now subbing in for Khan. While Gimgoon may not be much better than Khan, I am just glad that this team is making a change as I'm not sure they could have looked much worse. FPX has a huge advantage in the bot lane and I expect them to work through Lwx to get the win here.
Tian should control the jungle and I'm hoping he can get on his comfort pick of Graves and snowball this game early. OMG has the top lane advantage, but if Gimgoon can avoid getting ganked six times in game one that should not be much of a problem. I'll take FPX to win here, 2-0, and I do not mind full-stacking them as we know OMG has been no stranger to having bloody games this split.
The pick: FPX, 2-0
Top FPX plays:
- Lwx - ADC
- Tian - JNG
- Crisp - SUP
- Doinb - MID

Vici Gaming (-145) vs. Edward Gaming
Vici comes in having lost their last two but winning four of their last six. EDG on the other hand has looked very poor for most of this split and has lost five of their last six. Vici has the first turret advantage, while EDG has a better first blood percentage.
EDG also holds better herald and baron rates, with Vici having better dragon control. Vici has a fairly solid vision advantage as well. Vici will be playing with their backup support, Maestro. Xiaoxiang is starting at TOP for the third consecutive match for EDG.
If EDG wants to win here, I think we need to see Scout dominate the mid lane match-up. It seems to come down to this more times than not, but I believe EDG will win or lose this one in the draft and I hate relying on that. I'd like to see Scout on the Syndra here as it is a good counter to iBoy's Aphelios that we are likely to see and does very well against it in team fights.
I think EDG will definitely ban Volibear and keep that away from Leyan to ensure Jiejie does not have a bad match-up on his likely Lee Sin pick. This is a really tough one to call, but it's a two-game slate and I am looking for some leverage. I believe EDG has a legitimate shot to win here so I will take them to do so, 2-1. I prefer EDG as your small stack which will help load up on the expensive FPX players.
The pick: EDG, 2-1
Top EDG plays:
- Scout - MID
- Jiejie - JNG
- Hope - ADC
Top Vici plays:
- iBoy - ADC
- Zeka - MID
- Cube - TOP
Summary
- With Maestro being priced as a back-up on FD, literally 90% of the field will probably have FPX/VG, I don't know about you guys but that does not sound too fun to me, EDG has a solid opportunity here, they will be your leverage.
- My favorite one-offs are at the TOP position with Cube from Vici and Curse from OMG.
- Ownership will likely be FPX, VG, EDG, OMG with a big gap between the first two and the last two.
