J.T. Realmuto Blasts Ninth Homer
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto went 1-for-5 in a win vs the Nationals Tuesday, but made the hit count as he launched a three-run homer for his ninth long ball of the season. Realmuto has gotten off to a great start this season batting .289 with a healthy .622 slugging percentage. Fantasy managers should expect more of the same from baseball's top catcher as his batted ball metrics back up his hot start. He is averaging over 90 MPH on when he makes contact and already has 10 barrels in just 59 batted balls. Realmuto is locked-in at the plate right now and is a must-start option in fantasy despite tough matchups in his next two games.

J.T. Realmuto Sitting On Thursday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Miami Marlins. It will be a normal day of rest for Realmuto. Since the All-Star break, Realmuto has been hot, going 18-for-50 (.360) with five home runs, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored in 14 games to raise his season line to .268/.339/.455 with 13 home runs, 54 RBI, 52 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 378 plate appearances. When he's on the field, Realmuto is a must-start in fantasy. Garrett Stubbs is doing the catching on Thursday and is hitting eighth against Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera. Stubbs will be a low-upside DFS play on Thursday. He's hitting .270 on the year but has just four home runs and 11 RBI in 30 games played.

J.T. Realmuto On The Bench Against Pirates On Thursday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is getting the day off on Thursday as the team takes on right-hander Zach Thompson and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Garrett Stubbs will be handling catching duties for the game. This will be Realmuto's second day off over the team's last five games. The 31-year-old has been having his best month at the plate in July. He owns a month-long slash line of .339/.391/.607 to go along with four home runs, three stolen bases, 15 RBI and seven runs. Expect to see him back behind the plate on Friday.

J.T. Realmuto Sitting Against Cubs On Sunday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is absent from the starting lineup for Sunday's game against left-hander Drew Smyly and the Chicago Cubs. Garrett Stubbs will be behind the plate for the game. Realmuto has had a productive month of July thus far. Over 13 games this month, he's slashed .333/.385/.600 with three home runs, two stolen bases, 10 RBI and six runs. He owns a .253/.327/.397 slash line over 81 games on the year to go along with eight homers, 12 stolen bases, 39 RBI and 42 runs. Expect to see him back on the field against the Atlanta Braves on Monday.

J.T. Realmuto Reinstated From Restricted List
3 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies reinstated catcher J.T. Realmuto from the restricted list on Thursday. He and third baseman Alec Bohm are the most notable players who landed on the restricted list and could not travel for the team's previous series at Toronto. The 31-year-old will return to his role as Philadelphia's primary catcher. He is slashing .240/.313/.371 with seven home runs, 35 RBI, and 39 runs over 310 plate appearances in 2022. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Realmuto in all league formats as the Phillies' backstop leads all catchers with 11 stolen bases this season.
