FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/23/20): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

We are winding down on the MLB regular season, so it's time to make the most out of our Fanduel lineups. Tonight's main slate features eight games.

There are a lot of weak starting pitchers to take advantage of tonight, so we've got plenty of value bats to choose from and some enticing stacks to build.

I'll provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 9/23/2020. Be sure to check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like DraftKings, and other sports.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Kenta Maeda, P - MIN vs DET ($10,000)

Maeda has been nothing short of terrific this season with a 2.52 ERA through 60 2/3 innings. His K-BB is phenomenal, striking out 31.6% of batters while walking just 4.4%, both of which are career-best marks. Maeda gets to face a weak Tigers lineup that has just a .289 wOBA against righties, which is third-lowest in all of baseball. Detroit also strikes out more than any other team against righties at 28.1%. This is a smash spot for Maeda and it's surprising that he's not the most expensive starter on the slate.

Logan Webb, P - SFG vs COL ($6,300)

Webb's results have been awful, but his underlying metrics suggest that he's actually been roughly a league-average pitcher in 2020. Webb has a 4.12 FIP and has done a good job at limiting home runs with just a 0.74 HR/9. His main issue has been giving up too many walks, but he's also getting hurt by a .345 BABIP, which supports the argument that he's been more unlucky than bad. Webb will be at home in an extreme pitcher's park against the Rockies, who have an awful .299 wOBA against righties. Colorado is also without one of their top hitters in Nolan Arenado. Webb is a very cheap pitcher that shouldn't be highly rostered, so he can provide outstanding value.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Anthony Rizzo, 1B - CHC at PIT ($3,300)

The Cubs are a lineup to consider stacking as they face Trevor Williams, who has an abysmal 6.70 ERA with a 2.54 HR/9. Rizzo is an affordable piece in the middle of the Cubs order, and he can be paired with Kyle Schwarber and Ian Happ without crushing your payroll.

Michael Chavis, 2B - BOS vs BAL ($2,700)

Chavis is a cheap power flier to grab in GPP tournaments for his upside. While he's a true zero-floor play, Chavis showed his ability with a two-homer game over the weekend and will be in a hitter-friendly park at home in Fenway. Against a rookie starter in Dean Kremer, the Red Sox lineup has potential for a big night.

Josh Donaldson, 3B - MIN vs DET ($3,000)

Donaldson is raking against right-handed pitching this year with a 149 wRC+. He's in a fantastic spot for both runs and RBI batting second in the Twins order. Tigers rookie Casey Mize has been thrown to the wolves and has a 6.08 ERA, so the Twins should be one of the highest scoring offenses tonight.

Adalberto Mondesi, SS - KAN vs STL ($2,900)

Speed is often undervalued by daily fantasy players, so rostering guys like Mondesi is a good way to get an edge. Despite his ugly numbers at the plate, Mondesi has been an extraordinarily valuable fantasy player with 20 steals in just 54 games. He's also gotten back into a power groove with three homers in the last two weeks. Opposing starter Carlos Martinez has been a disaster with a 8.40 ERA.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Alex Dickerson, OF - SFG vs COL ($2,800)

Dickerson has picked back up right where he left off, with two homers in two games since returning from the injured list. He has been unstoppable against righties with a .969 OPS. It's unlikely that he lets up now against Ryan Castellani, owner of a 7.65 FIP and a 14.5% K-rate.

Yoshi Tsutsugo, OF - TAM vs NYM ($2,800)

Tsutsugo is an interesting option now that he's been leading off for the Rays against righties. Batting atop the order will provide Tsutsugo with extra plate appearances, as well as good opportunities to score runs. He's got some power upside, too, against Michael Wacha who has a 2.25 HR/9 and a 6.75 ERA.

DJ Stewart, OF - BAL at BOS ($2,900)

Stewart is a great value option in cash games with a .408 OBP against righties, which comes from an elite 19.5 walk-rate. He bats in the middle of an underrated Orioles lineup that should provide ample chances for RBI in a hitter's park in Boston.
