We have a 6-game main slate on tap tonight, and it should be a fun one. There is only one pitcher over $10K (Scherzer) and not too many lock-down pitching options in general. When it comes to the bats, the Yankees will be the mega-chalk after their performance Wednesday night and the fact they will be facing Haap. Finding the pitchers to pivot around Scherzer and then the stacks around the Yankees will be the way to make some serious money tonight.
The slate starts with which pitchers to build around. Scherzer is a great option and should be used in many lineups, regardless of chalk. On a short slate, you want those raw points more than ever, and Scherzer, even when he gives up some home runs, racks up the strikeouts which racks up the DK points. He faces a hot Giants offense, but still one to attack with an arm like Scherzer. The Yankees will be a major stack tonight, and for excellent reason. It is not a super expensive stack like usual, making it even more chalky. Attacking some other teams will be the way to be different on this slate, and there are a few strong places to attack today. Listen in to MLB DFS Quick Hits for the full slate rundown.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Trevor Rogers - P, MIA vs. COL ($9,000)
Rogers has been outstanding this season, making 12 starts and allowing two earned runs or less in 11 of the 12 starts. Let's narrow down the sample size and look at the last six starts, half of his season. He has thrown six or more innings in four of six starts, striking out 37 in 35.2 innings and allowing only one home run over the six-game stretch. Rogers has a 43,5% groundball rate to go with a 25.9% strikeout rate over the stretch. Rogers has a 2.36 FIP while allowing a 3.2% barrel rate and 30.5% hard-hit rate over the six games. Tonight he faces the Road Rockies in a matchup he should definitely take advantage of for your DK teams. I like Rogers paired with Scherzer in cash games and even as an SP1 in tournaments where you are not using Scherzer.
Frankie Montas - P, OAK vs KC ($8,100)
Montas has been quite up and down this season, but a lot more up than down lately. He has gone at least five innings in every start in his last six starts and allowed three earned runs or less in five of six starts. He has six or more strikeouts in four of six starts and has not allowed a home run in his last two starts. Montas is striking out 25% of the batters he is facing while only walking 6.9%, and a .323 BABIP should come down a bit over time. He faces the Royals tonight, who are continuing their West Coast road trip. Over the last three weeks, the Royals are striking out 21% of the time versus RHP with a 97 wRC+. Montas can put up a nice 20+ point performance but should at least put up a nice 15 or so point performance if you want to shoot for the moon; look at Greinke versus the Red Sox Greinke brings a ceiling that most won't at $7,800.
Other Options: Max Scherzer (WAS vs SF) $11,400, Zack Greinke (HOU at BOS) $7,800

DraftKings DFS Infielders
Gary Sanchez - C, NYY at J.A. Happ ($4,600)
What if I told you that Sanchez was hitting .353 over his last 11 games before Wednesday night's game? Would you believe me? I know I wouldn't believe me, but here we are. Gary Sanchez is actually hitting and hitting well. Besides the .353 average the past 11 games, he has five extra-base hits, a .265 ISO, and is walking 12.8% of the time. Sanchez is showing patience and hitting for average. Wake me up now!!!! As one would expect, the quality of contact is solid, with a 13.6% barrel rate and 50% hard-hit rate. He faces Happ tonight in what will be a very popular Yankees' stack. Versus LHP this season, Sanchez is only hitting .200 (which is good for Sanchez) with a .289 ISO and a .783 OPS. Sanchez is in a great spot tonight and is worth paying up for a while; his bat is red hot.
Other Options: Sean Murphy (OAK vs. KC) $4,000, Ryan Jeffers (MIN vs. NYY) $2,600, Riley Adams (TOR at CWS) $2,000
Jesus Aguilar- 1B, MIA vs Chi Chi Gonzalez ($4,600)
Aguilar enters tonight's game riding a five-game hitting streak. He has three multi-hit games over the stretch with three extra-base hits and driving in six. Most impressively is Aguilar is only striking out 8.3% of the time over the five-game streak. As one would expect with a red-hot Aguilar, the quality of contact is off the charts. He has a barrel rate of 19% and a hard-hit rate of 57.1%. Tonight he faces Gonzalez in a matchup he should dominate. Most associate Aguilar as a lefty masher, but he hits RHP very well. This season Aguilar is hitting .283 versus RHP with a .226 ISO and a 130 wRC+. The Marlins are one of the lower-rostered stacks I am interested in tonight, and Aguilar should be a key piece of the stack.
Other Options: Yuli Gurriel (HOU at BOS) $4,000
Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU at Eduardo Rodriguez ($4,800)
Altuve comes into tonight's action looking like the Altuve of old. He has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, good for a .270 average. He is doing it in all facets of the offense over the ten-game stretch. Altuve has four home runs, a stolen base, and is even walking 19.1% of the time. The Astros leadoff hitter has a .324 ISO and a .999 OPS over the ten-game stretch, not too shabby. More importantly, he is mashing LHP this season. Altuve is hitting .341 with .125 ISO, .847 OPS, and 138 wRC+ versus LHP this season. Altuve makes for a strong cash game play tonight and a focal point in an Astros stack.
Other Options: Jazz Chisholm Jr. (MIA vs. COL) $5,000,
Bo Bichette - SS, TOR at Dallas Keuchel ($4,400)
Bichette head into Thursday night's game riding a nine-game hitting streak. Bichette is hitting .314 over the streak with a .768 OPS. Bichette and the Jays are in quite the matchup tonight versus Keuchel. I usually do not attack Keuchel as he limits the damage, but there are two main reasons I am in tonight. First, the Jays have a lot of powerful bats that can take advantage of LHP. The second is that Keuchel has only pitched six or more innings in two of his last five starts and has allowed six home runs over that stretch. The fact Keuchel is not going deep means the powerful Jays may see many the White Sox bullpen. A not-so-great pen. A pen that the Jays went off on in just two innings last night. I am stacking up the Jays tonight, and with Bichette discounted nicely, he will be a nice piece of the stack.
Other Options: Xander Bogaerts (BOS vs. HOU) $5,500, Carlos Correa (HOU at BOS) $4,600, Gleyber Torres (NYY at MIN) $4,300, Brandon Crawford (SF at WAS) $3,500
Gio Urshela - 3B, NYY at J.A. Happ ($4,000)
I hate that I keep recommending the chalk Yankees (there's another one coming), but the bats are heating up, and they are in a great matchup tonight. Urshela brings an eight-game hitting streak into tonight's game, hitting .353 with a .900 OPS and 151 wRC+. He faces the lefty Happ tonight, and that is something that bodes well for Urshela, who is hitting .273 with a .121 ISO and a nice 1.067 OPS. Urshela hits in the middle of the Yankees' order and is quite cheap considering the matchup tonight. Stack him up with the other big dogs.
Other Options: Alex Bregman (HOU at BOS) $5,000
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Starling Marte - OF, MIA vs Chi Chi Gonzalez ($5,100)
Marte is one of the more under-appreciated players in the game these days, and that bodes well for finding him lowly rostered slate after slate. Since returning from the IL on May 28, Marte has hit safely in nine of 11 games. He is hitting .368 with a .263 ISO, a 1.099 OPS, and a 201 wRC+. He is absolutely mashing no matter what statistic you want to look at. Marte is also running as he has three steals over the 11 game stretch while also walking 13.3% of the time. He faces Chi Chi tonight, and that is fine as he has a .313 average and a .194 ISO versus RHP this season. I said the Marlins were an interesting stack, and now you have Marte to go with Aguilar in a lowly rostered stack.
Randal Grichuk - OF, TOR at Dallas Keuchel ($4,000)
Grichuk quietly puts up a solid season, and I feel he gets overlooked in this potent Jays offense. Over the last couple of weeks, he is hitting .295 with six home runs and a .361 ISO. Grichuk is absolutely mashing baseballs to the tune of an 18.2% barrel rate and 50% hard-hit rate. Grichuk has always hit LHP well, but a .364 average and .327 ISO, this season versus LHP, is crazy. Grichuk is crushing baseballs and comes in quite affordable when stacking up the Jays tonight.
Miguel Andujar - OF, NYY at J.A. Happ ($2,600)
Miguel Andujar, yes, Miguel Andujar has been raking of late. He has hit safely in eight of his last nine games, good for a .314 average. More impressively is Andujar's power as he has hit five home runs over the last nine games, with a .429 ISO and a 1.067 OPS. Andujar is hitting everything right now and is in that awesome matchup for the Yankees tonight. The hot streak is great and all, but the piece tag is even more eye-popping. You do not see many Yankees this cheap unless your name is Clint Frazier, making Andujar an even better play tonight. The price tag alone will make Andujar chalk, and he is good chalk tonight. He should be value in cash and locked into many tournament lineups to help pay for Scherzer and other pricey pieces.
