Tigers @ Royals
More or Less Contest
Mike Minor more than 6.5 strikeouts and Casey Mize more than 4.5 strikeouts
Minor has been mowing down the opposition as he now has seven or more strikeouts in six of his previous seven starts. Tonight, he gets the Detroit Tigers who are posting a K rate of 27.1% vs. left-handers over the previous 10 days, which is ranked 10th-worst in the league over that span. He has also faced Detroit twice this season and has notched eight and nine strikeouts in those two games, respectively.
Casey Mize is starting to warm up and now has six or more strikeouts in each of his previous five games. While the Royals are not striking out at an elite rate, they are posting a K rate of 21% over the previous 10 days, which should be high enough to get Mize over the total here. They also just lost Andrew Benintendi to the IL and he was a huge presence in their order.

Reds @ Brewers
More or Less Contest
Luis Castillo more than 5.5 strikeouts and Brett Anderson less than 3.5 strikeouts
Castillo has struggled a bit this season, so this prop definitely poses some risk. That being said, he just struck out seven Brewers in his previous start and also has allowed just six earned runs in his previous three starts combined, which is a long way away from where he started the season. The Brewers are striking out at a rate of 24.6% against right-handers over the previous 10 days as well, which is ranked 12th-worst in baseball.
Brett Anderson has gone over this total once all season and it was in his first start of the season against the Chicago Cubs and he hit four on the nose. He has faced these Reds once back on May 22nd and struck out three. Currently, the Reds are posting the sixth-best K rate against left-handers over the previous 10 days with a rate of just 19.2%. They are also walking at a rate of 12.3% and posting a wRC+ mark of 138, which should make things very difficult for Anderson in this one.
