We're back to finish out my starting pitcher tiers! In Part One, we covered my top-38 starters, you can check that out here!
We'll reveal and review the rest of my top-75 starters in this post. I admit that things got a little sloppy for me near the end, but when I encounter a pitcher that I would just never consider at the going rate, I end up just throwing them way far down on my list because I know I'll never draft them anyways.
Let's get to it.

Tier Seven: Coming Off Injury/Might Just Stink
Player | Current Projections
Name | Rank | ADP | GS | IP | W | ERA | WHIP | SO |
Mike Clevinger | 40 | 189 | 21 | 121 | 8 | 3.66 | 1.19 | 132 |
Luis Severino | 41 | 180 | 30 | 122 | 9 | 3.87 | 1.18 | 128 |
Sonny Gray | 42 | 181 | 29 | 160 | 11 | 4.13 | 1.27 | 170 |
Jack Flaherty | 43 | 76 | 29 | 159 | 12 | 3.71 | 1.16 | 171 |
Clevinger and Severino are both talented enough to end up as a top-20 starter, but it has proven to be really tough for a pitcher to come back from missing this much time and really have a large fantasy impact. I'd rather not roll the dice.
I'm a bit of a Sonny Gray fan myself, and you can tell that I really don't like Flaherty. There's a good chance Flaherty makes me look incredibly silly here as I rank him lower than probably anybody else around.
My Favorite: Gray
My Fade: Flaherty
ADP Considered Upside: Clevinger
Tier Eight: Low K and Heartbreak
Player | Current Projections
Name | Rank | ADP | GS | IP | W | ERA | WHIP | SO |
Chris Bassitt | 44 | 138 | 29 | 168 | 11 | 3.73 | 1.19 | 160 |
Nathan Eovaldi | 45 | 141 | 29 | 167 | 10 | 3.91 | 1.20 | 170 |
Tony Gonsolin | 46 | 307 | 23 | 114 | 7 | 4.26 | 1.32 | 119 |
Ian Anderson | 47 | 152 | 29 | 156 | 10 | 4.00 | 1.31 | 154 |
Blake Snell | 48 | 117 | 28 | 146 | 9 | 3.80 | 1.25 | 176 |
Carlos Rodon | 49 | 129 | 24 | 129 | 9 | 3.55 | 1.14 | 160 |
Yes, I plan to have a lot of Tony Gonsolin this year. Even I will admit this is a ridiculous ranking of him, but you've got to plant your flag somewhere.
I'm really off the Snells and Rodons of the world, I just don't want any part of betting on their health, and with Snell, that's not even the only question. I would much prefer a lower-ceiling but a higher-floor option like Bassitt, Eovaldi, Anderson, or Gonsolin here.
My Favorite: Gonsolin
My Fade: Rodon
ADP Considered Upside: Gonsolin
Tier Nine: Anybody's Guess
Player | Current Projections
Name | Rank | ADP | GS | IP | W | ERA | WHIP | SO |
Josiah Gray | 50 | 285 | 26 | 137 | 7 | 4.72 | 1.30 | 136 |
Jordan Montgomery | 51 | 214 | 29 | 158 | 9 | 4.09 | 1.27 | 159 |
Tarik Skubal | 52 | 195 | 30 | 159 | 9 | 4.10 | 1.24 | 175 |
Carlos Carrasco | 53 | 300 | 24 | 130 | 8 | 1.20 | 1.26 | 132 |
Tylor Megill | 54 | 215 | 21 | 113 | 6 | 4.34 | 1.27 | 120 |
Aaron Civale | 55 | 265 | 29 | 163 | 10 | 4.46 | 1.27 | 135 |
John Means | 56 | 220 | 29 | 162 | 9 | 4.14 | 1.16 | 146 |
Tanner Houck | 57 | 202 | 19 | 116 | 7 | 4.09 | 1.28 | 21 |
Ranger Suarez | 58 | 177 | 26 | 146 | 10 | 3.80 | 1.28 | 126 |
Triston McKenzie | 59 | 233 | 26 | 137 | 7 | 4.51 | 1.24 | 132 |
Framber Valdez | 60 | 145 | 28 | 173 | 12 | 3.68 | 1.31 | 150 |
There are a few boring but reliable pitchers here like Montgomery, Civale, Means, and Valdez, and also some high upside names like Gray, Houck, and McKenzie. This is the point where I really want to be near the back-end of my rotation, as exactly none of these guys are trustworthy for 2022 fantasy purposes. I find myself drafting a lot of Civale and Gray though, as I really like that combination together for the strikeout upside of Gray and the innings/ERA security of Civale.
My Favorite: Gray
My Fade: Valdez
ADP Considered Upside: Carrasco
Tier Ten: Names I Wish Would Retire
Player | Current Projections
Name | Rank | ADP | GS | IP | W | ERA | WHIP | SO |
Anthony DeSclafani | 61 | 214 | 30 | 162 | 10 | 4.19 | 1.26 | 142 |
Marcus Stroman | 62 | 184 | 30 | 175 | 10 | 3.98 | 1.28 | 143 |
Adam Wainwright | 63 | 204 | 27 | 170 | 11 | 4.00 | 1.25 | 136 |
German Marquez | 64 | 258 | 30 | 184 | 11 | 4.56 | 1.32 | 176 |
Jameson Taillon | 65 | 308 | 26 | 139 | 8 | 4.42 | 1.25 | 131 |
Adbert Alzolay | 66 | 356 | 25 | 126 | 7 | 4.58 | 1.29 | 123 |
The first five names here are guys I'm just tired of thinking about. They have been jerking us around for so long in fantasy, and I am done with them. The last name there is someone I feel like will probably start doing that to me over the next few years, but he's someone I believe in at the current moment.
My Favorite: Taillon
My Fade: Wainwright
ADP Considered Upside: Alzolay
Tier Eleven: Guys I'm Wrong About But Want To See Proof
Player | Current Projections
Name | Rank | ADP | GS | IP | W | ERA | WHIP | SO |
Huascar Ynoa | 67 | 239 | 25 | 129 | 7 | 4.12 | 1.27 | 133 |
Andrew Heaney | 68 | 306 | 25 | 134 | 9 | 4.38 | 1.23 | 144 |
Michael Kopech | 69 | 169 | 22 | 129 | 9 | 3.77 | 1.21 | 162 |
Bailey Ober | 70 | 269 | 26 | 137 | 8 | 4.18 | 1.20 | 138 |
Alex Wood | 71 | 223 | 27 | 146 | 9 | 3.92 | 1.24 | 144 |
Tyler Mahle | 72 | 130 | 30 | 167 | 10 | 4.33 | 1.28 | 179 |
Joe Ryan | 73 | 222 | 24 | 133 | 8 | 4.18 | 1.12 | 141 |
Jon Gray | 74 | 242 | 30 | 168 | 10 | 4.14 | 1.28 | 164 |
Sean Manaea | 75 | 149 | 30 | 169 | 11 | 3.75 | 1.17 | 165 |
All of these guys, except Ynoa, Heaney, and Wood, should probably be a tier or two or several ahead of where I have them. However, I just can't really see myself pulling the trigger on any of them after I see where they go. There's just no chance I spend a top-200 pick on Kopech or a top-150 pick on Mahle, I mean come on. So they get tossed to this tier of guys that I admit are completely misranked.
My Favorite: Kopech
My Fade: All of them?
ADP Considered Upside: Ryan
