Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jon Lester threw six strong innings on Tuesday versus the Colorado Rockies. Lester allowed a walk to Charlie Blackmon to start the game and he eventually scored. It was the only run Lester allowed. Lester finished the game allowing four hits, one run, one walk and nine strikeouts.

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks suffered the loss in relief on Tuesday versus the Colorado Rockies in the National League wild-card game. Hendricks was pulled after allowing a RBI single to Tony Wolters. Hendricks finished the game allowing three hits and one run. Hendricks didn’t walk a batter or get a strikeout in relief.

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Pedro Strop (hamstring) will be active for Tuesday’s wild-card game versus the Colorado Rockies. Strop has been absent since September 13 with a hamstring injury and will provide a big boost to the Cubs bullpen. Strop is likely to step back in as the Cubs closer.
