Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish (elbow) underwent an arthroscopic debridement on his right elbow on Wednesday. Darvish also met with Dr. James Andrews to get a second opinion on his elbow. Darvish has had a rough debut season with the Chicago Cubs and is expected to be ready for Spring Training.

Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber (back) will miss his fourth consecutive game on Wednesday. Schwarber has been dealing with a back issue and remains day-to-day. Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant (shoulder) is scheduled to begin his rehab assignment on Monday with Triple-A Iowa. Bryant has been on the disabled list since July 26 and if everything goes as planned, the third baseman should be available this weekend. Bryant remains one of the better offensive options when healthy.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Andrew McCutchen will be in the Giants lineup on Thursday. McCutchen sat out on Wednesday and there was speculation that the outfielder could be dealt as he cleared waivers.
