Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Saturday 7/31

Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for a lackluster start by Kyle Hendricks to start the week, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We have seven pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Six more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us with a shade over half of the pitchers to choose from today. However, there are some really good options available in most leagues. We'll get into those after the hitters.

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Congrats to all the award winners and nominees including Best MLB Series, NFL Series, NBA Writer, PGA Writer and Player Notes writer of the year. Hitter Streamers for 7/31 - Shallow Leagues

Andrew Vaughn (OF/1B, RHB, CWS) - 48.7% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CLE RHP Triston McKenzie

Vaughn's eight-game hitting streak ended on Thursday with a 0-fer night against the Royals, but he started a new one last night and drove in a run in the series opener against Cleveland. Vaughn is still hitting .400 in the last 10 games with a homer and six RBI to go with six runs scored. We would like to see more power. That may come tonight against McKenzie, who has allowed three homers in his last two starts.

Harrison Bader (OF, RHB, STL) - 47.5% Rostered

Matchup: vs.MIN RHP Bailey Ober

Darth Bader is destroying almost every baseball in the universe lately. He is hitting .450 with three homers, six runs scored, seven RBI, and a steal in just the last week! We have good hitting weather in St. Louis and one of the worst pitching staffs Minnesota has put together this millennium. He's going to continue his hot streak this weekend.

Miguel Sano (1B, RHB, MIN) - 44.4% Rostered

Matchup: at STL RHP Jake Woodford

The metrics were pointing towards Sano's recent hot streak for a while now, similar to the case of Willy Adames earlier this year. With Nelson Cruz now in Tampa, Sano is seeing more meaningful at-bats in the middle of the Minnesota order. He is hitting .280 in the last week and smacked two homers on Thursday, one of them a 473-foot bomb that hasn't landed yet. Sano has five runs scored and five RBI in that span. He even stole his first base of the season! Sano's breakout is just beginning. Jump on now to get the most out of it!

Daulton Varsho (C/OF, LHB, ARI) - 35.7% Rostered

Matchup: vs. LAD RHP Mitch White

We are getting a glimpse of why Varsho is one of Arizona's best prospects right now. He has four of his five homers on the season in his last eight games. Varsho is hitting .421 in that span with nine RBI and a staggering 11 runs scored. That's all in just eight games! The Dodgers don't have their new toys yet, so they have to run one more bullpen game. That only favors Varsho and the Arizona offense.

Hitter Streamers for 7/31 - Deeper Leagues

Kyle Farmer (2B/SS/3B, RHB, CIN) - 15.7% Rostered

Matchup: at NYM LHP Rich Hill

Few players on any team worldwide are hitting like Farmer is right now. He is hitting .464 with two homers, four RBI, and seven runs scored in his current eight-game hitting streak while starting every one of them. This hot streak has earned him a spot right in front of the similarly hot Joey Votto. That means more runs scored if you need the category help there.

Rowdy Tellez (1B, LHB, MIL) - 11.1% Rostered

Matchup: at ATL LHP Kyle Muller

One of the most impactful trade deadline deals may also be one of the first. The Brewers sent Bowden Francis and Trevor Richards to the Blue Jays for Rowdy back on July 6. In 16 games with his new team, Rowdy is hitting .357 with four homers, nine runs scored, and 12 RBI. He has also walked six times while only walking nine times in 50 games with Toronto. All four of those homers are in the last six games and he is hitting .448 in his seven-game hitting streak with those four homers, ten of those 12 RBI, and eight of those nine runs scored. The Brewers might have found a star, at least in the short term.

Abraham Toro (3B, LHB, SEA) - 6.4% Rostered

Matchup: at TEX LHP Taylor Hearn

Toro's four game homer streak came to an end last night, but he still collected three hits and scored twice against a lefty in a very friendly pitcher's park. Just because Toro didn't homer doesn't mean he's not still swinging a hot bat right now. He's free in a staggering number of leagues and has already commandeered a good hitting spot in the Seattle order.

Miguel Cabrera (1B, RHB, DET) - 5.3% Rostered

Matchup: vs. BAL LHP John Means

37-year-old Joey Votto, who recently graduated from this list, is having a monster second half so far. 38-year-old Miguel Cabrera is turning back the clock to 2012 as well, when he was the last player to win the Triple Crown (the first in 45 years). Miggy is hitting .500 with three homers, five runs scored, and eight RBI in the last week while still batting cleanup for the Tigers. Considering that Miggy picked up multiple hits for the third consecutive game last night against a much-improved Matt Harvey, I think we can trust him against the solid John Means as well.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/31 - Shallow Leagues

Domingo German (RHP, NYY) - 39.6% rostered

Matchup: at Miami

German gets a massive park upgrade one outing after allowing one run on one hit in seven innings in Boston with 10 strikeouts. We want to see more consistency out of German, but his two starts after rejoining the rotation have gone rather well. There is nice strikeout potential against a righty-heavy Miami team that strikes out a lot anyway. German is 16th in ownership on today's slate, but I'll bet he is among the top 5-6 starters of the day.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/31 - Deeper Leagues

Kyle Muller (LHP, ATL) - 15.7% rostered

Advertising

Matchup: vs. Milwaukee

You have to start nit-picking a little to go after Muller's body of work so far. The 2.55 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in his first six major league starts speaks for itself. The knock on Muller is that he doesn't go deep into games. He hasn't completed six innings yet and he only has six strikeouts combined in his last two starts. Still, if you need some ratio help and a shot a win, Muller is likely to help you out tonight.

Tyler Anderson (LHP, SEA) - 15.7% rostered

Matchup: at Texas

The Mariners gave up a couple of prospects in Carter Bins and Joaquin Tejada to get Anderson earlier this week. His Mariners debut occurs at one of the more pitcher-friendly venues in the American League right now. Anderson hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since June 15, so he should help your ratios out here. He doesn't rack up the strikeouts, but he has pitched better than his record indicates and has cut back on the free passes this year.
