DraftKings Overview - NBA DFS Matchups
This is how the games, teams, and positional matchups shake out for tonight's slate. "K-Rate" is a metric that includes implied totals, projected pace, fantasy points against, and defensive ratings. The higher the number - the more attackable the game/opponent is for DFS purposes.
DraftKings Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - PG, OKC vs. HOU ($8,000)
SGA hasn't hit the 20-point mark over his last five games and has cleared 40 DK points in just two games during that stretch. This has caused his salary to fall to a spot where we can take advantage, especially in a beautiful matchup against the defensively-challenged Rockets. Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 34.9 minutes, 1.01 FPTS/min, and a 27.2% usage rate. His rates should see a boost tonight as the Rockets are allowing the most FPPG to opposing teams and the third-most FPPG to PG's over their last seven games. They don't have the personnel to slow SGA down, and we only need 40 DK points for him to hit 5x.
Donovan Mitchell - PG/SG, UTA vs. POR ($8,100)
Mitchell had a couple of down games but rebounded nicely with a 45.75 DK point effort over just 27 minutes in a blowout against the Pelicans on Saturday. He holds impressive rates of 1.20 FPTS/min and a 33% usage rate - the former metric stands to see a boost considering tonight's advantageous matchup. The Blazers rank decently against guards, but they hold the third-worst defensive rating in the NBA and this game projects to be the second-highest scoring contest on the slate. Mitchell is going to have plenty of opportunities to go off here and he's one of my favorite pay-up options on the slate.
Luguentz Dort - SG/SF, OKC vs. HOU ($5,400)
Dort is averaging 21.2 points per game over his last 10 games and has put up 32 and 38.75 DK points over his last couple. He's playing a ton of minutes and has proven himself as a primary playmaker for the rebuilding Thunder. The matchup is the most appealing part of this equation, though, as the Rockets allow the third-most FPPG to opposing SG's and the most FPPG to opposing SF's. This profiles as a fast-paced game with little defense, which is precisely the time to get a too-cheap Dort into your lineups.
Others to consider: Malik Beasley ($4,400), Caris LeVert ($5,300), Bones Hyland ($3,000), Alex Caruso ($5,300)

DraftKings Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Will Barton - SG/SF, DEN vs. MIA ($7,100)
Barton has been balling out recently, exceeding what he'd need for 5x tonight in seven of his last 10 games. He's taking a ton of shots while averaging a 22% usage rate, and he's also putting up a respectable 0.96 FPTS/min thanks to his contributions in the rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals categories. The veteran has emerged as the de-facto "second option" in Denver, and he gets a lot of opportunities due to the defensive attention given to Jokic. Surprisingly, the Heat are allowing the sixth-most FPPG to opposing SG's this year, so it's not as daunting of a matchup as it first appears.
Jae'Sean Tate - SF/PF, HOU vs. OKC ($4,400)
Tate's minutes have cratered a few times over his last 10 games, but as long as he gets his typical 30+ minute workload, he's a smash play at this price. He has exceeded what he'd need for 5x value (24 DK points) in seven of his last 10 games. The times he fell short were the games where he oddly got just over 20 minutes of playing time. This should be a close game with a fast pace and next-to-zero defense, which is a perfect game environment for a player like Tate to thrive. The Thunder allow the second-most FPPG to both SF's and PF's this season.
Evan Mobley - PF/C, CLE vs. DAL ($6,700)
This is simply too cheap for the rookie big man in Cleveland. He returned from an elbow injury absence on Saturday, putting up a 13/9/3 line with four blocks (37.25 DK points). He's not limited and his price fell for some reason, so now is the time to pounce. The Mavericks are allowing the third-most FPPG to C's on the season as well as over their last seven games.
Others to consider: Darius Bazley ($4,700), Nassir Little ($3,500), Maxi Kleber ($4,000), P.J. Washington ($5,100)
DraftKings Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks
Joel Embiid - C, PHI vs. ORL ($10,500)
Embiid jumped right back to being an absolute force after missing nine games due to COVID-19, putting up 70.5 DK points in a 2OT game against the Timberwolves on Saturday. He holds a 32.8% usage rate and averages 1.48 FPTS/min, both incredible marks that'll absolutely play against the Magic tonight. The Magic are allowing the seventh-most FPPG to opposing C's this season and the Sixers are projecting to score the second-most points on the slate. This is still too cheap for the big man.
Others to consider: Jakob Poeltl ($5,700), Daniel Gafford ($4,700), Maxi Kleber ($4,000)
