ANALYSIS: Houston Texans running back Duke Johnson made his return to action in Week 4 after missing the team's previous two games due to a sprained left ankle. While he was gone, the team's No. 1 running back David Johnson certainly didn't do too much to exert his control on the backfield, leaving an opening for Duke to have a significant role going forward.
Duke Johnson caught three of his four targets for 21 yards and added five rushes for 24 yards in Week 4. Despite David Johnson seeing 16 carries, Duke averaged more yards per carry in the game (4.8) than David did (3.9). Duke also had one more target in the passing game than David did.
The 0-4 Texans clearly need to shake something up offensively and that should start with mixing up their running back usage. David Johnson has seen 60 touches through four games and just simply hasn't done enough with them. He's averaging 3.9 yards per carry on the season and is yet to break a single play of over 20 yards.
Expect to see Duke Johnson play a bigger role going forward, as soon as Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He should be added in all PPR leagues of 14 teams or deeper and is worth consideration in more shallow PPR leagues as well.
