FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for 5/17/15

Below are my FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Sunday, May 17th. Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.

My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.

Editor’s Note: RotoBaller’s Premium DFS Lineup Picks & Tools help you get an edge for your FanDuel lineups with exclusive access to DFS tools and expert lineup picks. Also our DFS batters vs. pitchers tool helps you analyze today’s matchups and make optimal lineup decisions.

Last Sunday's Review

Last Saturday we played the Late $900 MLB Triple Up. Here is how we did:

Entry: $2

Winnings: $6

Sundays For the Season: +$1.50

Pick Highlights: Bartolo Colon did his normal Bartolo Colon thing, pitching a solid game and racking up 12 points. Adrian Gonzalez continued to be the best hitter in the game this year chipping in 8.5. Adrian Beltre finally came out of his early season slumber, homering on his way to a 7.5 point game.

Relationship Status: “Things are looking up”

DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel

Chris Archer (SP, TAM) - $8,900

Archer is turning himself into a bonifde stud. He has struck out 58 batters in 48 innings this year and is sporting a 2.59 ERA. Today he is pitching in a friendly environment in Minnesota so he should be able to suffocate the Twins offense while racking up a bunch of strikeouts.

Josh Collmenter (SP, ARI) - $6,400

If you want to go cheap at pitcher today I'm going with Collmenter against the Philadelphia Phillies. Arizona is a -128  favorite in this one giving Collmenter a great chance to get a win against a continuously putrid Phillies lineup.

DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel

Adrian Beltre (3B, TEX) - $3,200

Beltre is finally heating up after some early season struggles. I've had him in lineups consistently all year and maybe it was his approaching of the 400 HR mark for his career that was in his head causing the slow start. He seems to be back to his normal self now which means big time production at a low price.

Dustin Pedroia (2B, BOS) – $2,800

As I say every week, I refuse to take Pedroia off this list and out of my lineup. At $2,800, Pedroia is less or equally expensive as over half the other starting second basemen.

DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel

Matt Holliday (OF, STL) – $3,600

Another player that I refuse to take off this list. He’s on here weekly until he gets into the $3,800 – $4,000 range.

Jay Bruce (OF, CIN) – $2,400

I love getting guys in my lineup who are capable of hitting two home runs in a game. Bruce is certainly capable of that and at this low price you just don’t find guys this talented.

Jayson Werth (OF, WAS) - $3,100

Werth is another guy capable of hitting two home runs similar to Bruce, but he can also steal a base or two now and again for you. Werth didn't play yesterday after being hit on the wrist on Friday, but if you can wait until the last minute to get your lineup in and you see that he is in the lineup for the Nationals he is worth the price.

FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day

J.J. Hardy (SS, BAL) – $2,600

Hardy is back from injury and is therefore going to be undervalued for the next week or so minimum. Get him in all your lineups as he provides great power for the SS spot and hits in the middle of a good Orioles lineup.

My DFS Lineup on FanDuel

Today I’ll be playing in $20K Sat MLB Squeeze #2. Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
